Bjelasnica is a mountain in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, located southwest of the city of Sarajevo. Like neighboring Jahorina and Bjelasnica belongs to the Dinaric mountain range. At the highest point (2067m above sea level) there is a significant weather station, which is the highest permanently inhabited point in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Developed karst and glacial relief. The mean annual temperature is only 0.7 °C, due to the extremely low winter temperatures. The maximum temperature reaches 24 °C, and the lowest -41 °C. In summer it is covered with green grass in winter and up to 3 m high with snow. Winter, from November till May, make a snow drift high and up to several meters, which represent a particular challenge for winter sports enthusiasts. This time of year is particularly interesting because of the landscape that offers mountains covered in snow blanket, like a white desert awash with sunlight, above which extends no more than the skyline.
Bjelašnica of Sarajevo distance of about 30 KM and road connections in two ways. The first path is through the Igman, and the other is from Sarajevo, over Vojkovići and Krupac.

Start Canyon Canyon is located at an altitude of 1120 meters, and its confluence with the Neretva is at an altitude of 320 meters. Thanks to its unique beauty and difficult accessibility, rivers Raktinica represents a real challenge for hikers, apliniste, anglers, and lovers of wild and untouched nature. Bears, wolves, wild boars, foxes, snakes and wild goats found their refuge in this inaccessible canyon rare beauty.
32 species of endemic plants, flowers and trees living in this tiny region of the Dinaric Alps. The crystal clear water Canyon, powered by mountain streams is suitable for drinking along the entire canyon. Canyon is possible to visit and explore in the period from May to October, tours that depart from Sarajevo or the Olympic Centre on Mt. Bjelasnica is known for its multitude of authentic mountain village with a specific architectural style. During the summer, is one of Bjelasnica mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has the highest level of population. 14.zimske Olympics were held in four mountain near Sarajevo. One of these mountains was the Bjelasnica.
Due to the harsh terrain Bjelasnica is popular among fans of extreme skiing. Today on Mt there are several hotels and a large capacity of the holiday accommodation. This mountain is becoming more popular among tourists from the region as a winter tourist destination.
